Spiritual Exercises

Luigi Novarese initiated an experience that no one had ever attempted, organizing Spiritual Exercises classes for people with disabilities. Helping the suffering means taking care of their spiritual dimension as well.

Care and rehabilitation

Among activities promoted by the Silent Workers of the Cross include fostering the social and health care of sick or otherwise disadvantaged people by taking them in and caring for them (rehabilitation and welfare activities).

Missions

Mission is a universal need to recover the meaning of the Gospel proclamation. It is proper for consecrated life experiences to qualify a Church presence within a specific charism and mission.

Pilgrimages

Blessed Luigi Novarese first turned his attention to priests, especially those suffering, elderly, or in difficulty, by organizing the first pilgrimage to Lourdes in 1952.

Since then, pilgrimages (to Lourdes, Fatima, Poland, and the Holy Land) have followed one after another, always new and touching, open to everyone, even the youngest.

Training

Since 2022, the association has been approved as an ECM provider by the Ministry of Health and, with the certification of the training center, has introduced a quality management system in the design of training and continuing education courses accredited by the Ministry of Health (ECM accreditation).

Conventions

Since the second half of the 1940s, Blessed Novarese has directed conferences, both national and international, on religious topics, such as on Worship to the Heart of Christ, on the practice of reparation and the Consecration of Families to the Sacred Heart, on the pastoral care of suffering (or health), and scientific meetings, bringing doctors and the sick together, emphasizing in particular the importance that the spiritual dimension comes to assume in the relationship between hell and illness.

University

It is present at the “Mons. Luigi Novarese” Nursing Home in Moncrivello, Vercelli, the Occupational Therapy course under the Catholic University of Policlinic Gemelli in Rome.

The Silent Workers of the Cross provided significant support for the three-year university course, which has been in operation since 2005 and is the only occupational therapy program in Piedmont.
